Gulf Incon- Metabo Cricket tourney gets to a flying start

The 22nd Gulf Incon-Metabo Cricket Tournament 2016 got off to a flying start when Force India defeated Hosts Metabo by four wickets in the 17th over.

The tournament was inaugurated by Sajjad Ahmed Khan, senior Sales & Marketing Manager– Tools & Equipment Division in presence of Vincent Vimla Das Product & Equipment Manager along with members of the Qatar Veterans’ Cricket League.   

Winning the toss, Metabo elected to bat. Metabo totaled 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Rafaqat was outstanding scoring 42 runs off 18 deliveries with 2 sixes and 4 boundaries. Asif remained not out on 21 runs. Ranga took 3 wickets and  Akalanka claimed two.

In reply, Force India batsmen started confidently and they chased the total of 162 runs in 16.3  Overs. Bari was the main scorer who contributed 33 runs off 14 balls with a six and 4 boundaries in the total. Akalanka secured 25 runs for his team. Mohsin and Hanif took 2 wickets each.

2) Hind Sports club VS Tuskers: Tusker won by 9 wickets

Hind Sports Club 149 for 8 in 20 overs:
Basher 37 runs, Jamshed and Mustafa 17 runs each.

Samat, Rajnish, Bipin, Namshed, Sajeer took a wkt each.

Tuskers 150 for 2 in 13.2 overs
Shaji 30 runs and Rajnish 23 runs

Safawan and Rafiq took 1 wkt each

3) Al Fardan VS Mitra Mandal: Mitra Manadal won by 3 wickets
Al Fardan: 166 for 10 in 20 overs
Hinan 35 runs and Farhan 25 runs
Ravikant 3 for 28, Ajay 3 for 11 and Mani 2 for 23
Mitra Mandal :  170 for  8 in 19.4 overs
Ajay 36 runs, Ravikanth 28 runs ,Yashwant and Abhijit 20 runs each.

Hinan 2 for 27,  Tanveer, Akram, Frahan and Ghazali 1 wkt each

4) Sarandeep – A VS Tulukuta: Tulukuta won by 4 wickets
Sarandeep A - 171 for 10  in 20 overs
Nibrus  56 runs with 4 sixes and 5 boundaries and Darshana 28 runs,
Nasar, Ashwaq, Imran 2 wkts each, shukur and Jawahar took 1 wkt each
Tulukuta  - 175 for 7 in 20 overs
Shakir 67 runs with 5 sixes,  Fawaz  27 runs and Anwar 19 runs
Wasantha, Basin took 2 wkts each, Drashana and Nimata 1 wkts each,
Man of the match : Shakir of Tulukuta

5) AL Khor CC gave walkover to SARANDEEP - B

The Finals of this prestigious tournament are scheduled for Friday December 9, 2016.

All matches are being played at the Qatar Cricket Sports Complex at West Bay.
